What you’ll see - typical route

  • Italian Chapel — beauty fashioned by hand
A WWII masterpiece created by Italian POWs: painted ceilings, delicate ironwork, and devotion turned into art.

  • Sheila Fleet Jewellery — workshop & gallery visit
Meet Orkney’s best-known jewellery house. See how sea, sky and wildflowers inspire designs; learn about enamelling and island craftsmanship; time to browse the collections.

  • St Magnus Cathedral or free time in Kirkwall
Choose a guided visit inside Orkney’s 12th-century Viking cathedral — or enjoy independent craft shops along Kirkwall’s lanes.

  • Orkney Distillery — gin tasting (18+)
Finish with a hosted tasting of Kirkjuvagr gin, distilled with island botanicals on Kirkwall’s waterfront. Non-drinkers welcome — we’ll arrange alternatives.
